Summer Research Internship Opportunity (SPRINT Program)

Artizan Biosciences, as a part of the Connecticut SPRINT (Student Program to Ready Interns for Next-generation Talent) Internship program is offering a Research Internship Opportunity for 10 weeks in Summer 2022 for students attending Connecticut Colleges and Universities as well as students with ties to Connecticut.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated undergraduate/graduate student to integrate into a scientifically dynamic environment and support research & development of multiple microbiology and drug discovery programs. In this role, the ideal candidate will work with a team of highly talented scientists and have the opportunity to learn an assortment of scientific methods & technologies. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to maintaining bacterial and mammalian cell culture lines, execution of molecular and plate-based assays, and culturing microbes of interest from human and mouse fecal samples. Appropriate compensation will accompany this 10-week role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain bacterial and mammalian cell cultures
  • Assist with in vivo sample processing and plate-based assays
  • Culture microbes from an in-house collection of human fecal samples
  • Maintain detailed electronic lab notebook
  • Assist other lab members as needed


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors/Master of Science in biology, or a related discipline
  • Candidate must be a resident of CT or pursuing a degree in a college or university in CT
  • 0-3 years laboratory experience
  • At least one professional reference
